Character Creator is a native UE5 plugin that lets you import modular character packs and compose unique characters from interchangeable parts — no engine plugin assembly required, no per-character art pipeline.
What it does
- Synty Sidekick support out of the box — drop in a Sidekick pack and Character Creator wires up the part mixing, materials and species presets automatically.
- Modular composition — heads, bodies, hairstyles, outfits as swappable parts. Mix species, swap pieces at runtime, save the result as a preset.
- UV-based colour customisation — a 16×16 colour grid applies per-region tinting straight from the editor. No texture variants to maintain.
- Real-time preview in the Unreal Editor — every change reflects in the viewport instantly so artists can iterate without play-in-editor cycles.
- Preset save / load — capture a configuration once, instantiate it anywhere. Presets are plain data assets and version-control friendly.
- Native UE 5.6+ integration — uses standard UE skeletal mesh + animation systems. No proprietary runtime, no external dependencies.
Who Character Creator is for
Indie studios and solo developers who want presentable characters fast without building a character pipeline from scratch. Pairs especially well with Synty's Sidekick library — Character Creator turns Sidekick from "a pile of meshes" into "a working character system."

Status
Currently in early-bird beta (v0.9). The core feature set above ships and works against Synty Sidekick packs in UE 5.6+. Future releases will add support for additional asset providers and a richer customisation surface.
