Welcome to GameDevBuddy
GameDevBuddy is a suite of integrated tools for game developers — describe the game in GDB, implement it in Unreal Engine.
Welcome to GameDevBuddy
GameDevBuddy is a desktop suite for game developers built around a single principle:
GameDevBuddy describes the game. Unreal Engine implements it.
Every module in the suite is designed to capture, organise, or visualise some part of your project so the engine can stay focused on what it does best — runtime.
What's included
| Module | What it does | Pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Oracle | Knowledge management — documentation, lore bibles, design docs | Free |
| Forge | Structured authoring of game data (characters, items, abilities, narrative) | Premium |
| Prism | Visual reference boards — a PureRef replacement, integrated with your data | Premium |
| Hoard | Digital asset management — Eagle-style libraries that double as UE projects | Premium |
| Character Creator | Generate game-ready characters from authored data | Premium |
| Nexus | The connective tissue — links docs, data, references and assets together | Free |
Where to start
If you're new to GameDevBuddy, we recommend reading the Oracle introduction — it's the free, no-commitment entry point and the module most developers spend the most time in.
If you came in for a specific tool, jump straight to its module:
- Oracle — knowledge management
- Forge — game-data authoring
- Prism — visual references
- Hoard — asset libraries
- Character Creator — character generation
- Nexus — cross-module linking
How to read these docs
Every module follows the same structure: a one-page introduction, a "Concepts" page that explains the model, then task-oriented how-tos. If you ever feel lost, the search bar in the top-right indexes the entire vault, including in-app toolbox snippets.
